Can you bring your family to Japan if you have a work visa?

If you are working in Japan, you may want to bring their spouse and children, but is it possible?

The answer is, “Yes!” You can apply for a Dependent Visa (家族滞在ビザ).

If you hold a valid work visa (like Engineer, Humanities, Instructor, etc.), you can sponsor your spouse and children to live in Japan with you.

Important point :

  1. It allows your family to stay as long as your work visa is valid.

  2. Dependents can work part-time (up to 28 hours per week) if they get special permission.

  3. Parents, siblings, or other relatives cannot be sponsored under this visa. (unfortunately😢)

🚨 Planning to bring your family?

Make sure to prepare financial proof, marriage/birth certificates, and other required documents!
